On September 18 and 19 2018 a great number of companies, startups, and young talents met at the first ever Startup SAFARI in Halle. Being first of its kind in whole Saxony-Anhalt, the event gathered around 300 entrepreneurs, founders, students, and jobseeker to deep discussions, insightful talks, and exciting workshops. The event gave the participants a platform for networking, exchange, and knowledge share at more than 20 locations in Halle. Fascinating speakers presented innovative technologies and exciting projects in 90 minutes and allowed the attendees to look behind the curtain of 40 thriving and upcoming startups and corporates.

HIGHLIGHTS

The adventure started with the official kick-off session hosted by Ywes Israel of bmp Ventures AG and Thai Bao Hoang of Digital Republic Media Group GmbH at the newly opened SaltLabs workspace + coffee. Shortly after the breakfast, the expedition began with companies like Relaxdays, Oxid eSales, Experimental Game, and Coman. The Weinberg Campus was the melting pot for all the med and biotech companies.

Besides the insightful session’s, attendees were offered several networking possibilities like the Food & Networking at interesting locations, like the MMZ Halle, the dance bar “Palette” or at the After-Show-Party at Club No. 12.

The second day started with a common breakfast to which the Central German startup scene invited political representatives. Prof. Dr. Armin Willingmann, Minister for Economy, Science and Digitalisation of Saxony-Anhalt, discussed with Christian Theune of Flying Circus, Tobias Steenweg of Uninow, and Dr. Jenny Müller of ways and possibilities on how the State of Saxony-Anhalt can get more attractive for innovative startups. After this tonic breakfast more workshops and sessions on different topics – like absolutely relevant taxation subjects by ECOVIS – completed the successful safari tour.
